ICT Partners needed for rural Africa.
Related to country: Uganda

As an SME development Consultant, having done surveys in different rural areas in Uganda bassically, I have discovered that the need for ICT usage in the daily day today business operations of Businesses has caused a returdation in the development of the SMEs in rural Africa.

All this has been caused by the following:
1) High costs of computers.
2) Un-available favourable ICT policies
3) The belief by the rural poor that ICT means computers and that it belongs and suits the educated
4) Lack of sensitisation of the rural poor about the direct and indirect benefits and pros of the use of ICTs
5) Power problem

Solutions:
1) Avail free or affordable computers for atleast schools and for the setting up of multi-purpose ICT centers.
2) Solar driven PCS
3) Refurbished or second hand computers .
4) PCs on Loan scheme
5) Avail funds for mass sensitisation on the use of ICTs and its benefits

Youth Conference
I have seen the info on the web site
but I was beaten by the $2500 . No SME has that to attend a conference. If there are some fundings we can afford some costs but not 2500 dollars.
regards.
If there is a subsdy please let me know
